How models change
A model id always means that model: we never answer with another one in its place. Notice before a model leaves, and what happens to its id.

A model id means that model
When you name a model, that model answers, or you get an error. We never send the request to a different model in its place:
- if no machine of that model is available in your key's zones, the answer is
503with the zones named, and nothing is charged; - the answer's
modelfield is the model that answered, andX-Zonathe zone.
Only auto chooses a model for you, and it says which one: see
Automatic model selection.
What can change, and with what notice
| Change | Notice |
|---|---|
| A model leaves the catalogue | E-mail at least 30 days before |
| A price goes up | E-mail at least 30 days before |
| A price goes down, a model is added, a limit grows | Applies when published, in the changelog |
| A model moves to other machines, in the countries listed for it | No notice: the catalogue shows its countries at all times |
| A model starts running in a new country | Shown in the catalogue and in the changelog before it serves requests; your key's zones decide whether it may serve yours |
If you do not accept a price increase or the removal of a model, you can close your account before it applies, and we refund the paid credit you have not used (terms, section 9).
When a model leaves
Until its last day it answers as before. From the day after, its id answers
404 model_not_found, and GET /v1/models no longer lists it. The e-mail and
the changelog name a model to use instead.
What we write for each model
Every page of the catalogue gives the values we serve: context, longest answer, precision of the weights, tools, images, reasoning, countries, price. When one of them changes, the page changes the same day.
